The Garate Uranga Family have been in the paper making business since 1861, the year in which Juan Cruz Uranga Muñagorri took over the Uranga paper mill in the paper making region of Tolosa in Guipúzcoa, Spain. Juan Garate Uranga started working in the industry in 1954 and from 1964 onwards has concentrated on the production of high volume paper sacks. He has specialised in the packaging of cement and construction materials and gained experience in the different packaging methods in this sector. The products are also aimed at other sectors such as animal feed (farm and domestic animals), flour, fertiliser and chemical industries etc. In 1995 the family established Garate e Hijos S.L.
